Considering that, within this, meals are the type of purchases that most drives consumption out of the home and deliveries.
According to the study, the "increase in the confidence of the Portuguese" is growing due to the "positive economic indicators", the stabilization of inflation, the reduction of interest rates, and the good performance of the labor market.
It was also possible to conclude that the spending that the Portuguese dedicate to consumption at home decreased. However, the percentages of spending by the Portuguese directed towards home delivery or 'take-away' increased.
"The growth in out-of-home consumption is mainly driven by a 13% increase in spending on meals outside the home. However, snacks decrease by 22% and drinks by 5%, with an increase in purchase frequency, reducing the volume and value spent on each purchase," read the news.
