
Income increases by around 4%: Which areas are the most expensive?

In February, the rental price of houses increased by 3.9% compared to the previous month.
The data comes from the Idealista price index, shared on Notícias ao Minuto, and pointed to a cost of 16.4 euros per square meter (euros/m2) at the end of February, considering the median value.
Concerning quarterly variation, house rents increased by 1.8%. The cities with the highest rent increases were Évora (18.3%), Faro (16.7%), and Funchal (16.6%).
Mas Lisboa permanece como a cidade onde é mais caro arrendar casa com um valor por metro quadrado em 21,8 euros/m2. Em seguida, vem o Porto com 17,2 euros/m2.
Following are Funchal (16.1 euros/m2), Faro (14.2 euros/m2), Setúbal (12.6 euros/m2), Évora (12.5 euros/m2), Coimbra (11.5 euros/m2), Aveiro (11.2 euros/m2), Braga (10.4 euros/m2), and Santarém (8.9 euros/m2).
On the other hand, the cities where it is cheaper to rent a house are Castelo Branco (6.8 euros/m2), Leiria (8.4 euros/m2), and Viana do Castelo (8.6 euros/m2).
